Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is an British and American sitar player. She also sings. She won the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and also the first female recipient. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations She was also the very first Indian-origin musician to be a presenter and performer in the live ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is among India's most promising stars on the sitar. She's the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. The first few years of her life were split in London and New Delhi. She gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. In the following years she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school, graduating with distinction in the year 1999. Anouskha still has a promising music and acting career, despite being young. She has been accompanying her father on stage for many years. In 1998, she debuted her debut single album Anourag. Two years later she released the Grammy nominated album Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. Her stage career is very vast as she has been in every one of the major stages in the world. Anoushka's career does not only involve music. She released Bapi The Love of My Life in the year 2002. It is a biography that pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as an Bharat Nathyam young dancer Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising superstar and her fame will keep on growing. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent a lot of her early years in London and Delhi then moving to California in the state where she attended high school. When she was 9 she began her studies in music with her father. The first time she performed on the sitar came during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi in the year following. Anoushka had the opportunity to acquire a variety of valuable experiences when she accompanied her father when he toured the world. The tour included appearances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concerts in addition to making recordings together with George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to receive the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament as recognition of her musicianship and artistry in music and the Asian Arts.
